Siine Ltd Barcelona & London 07/2010 - 12/2011	Head of Engineering Siine is one of the most exciting projects currently under development in the technological innovation space. With its core focus on communications interface design, the team at Siine has created a whole new paradigm for communication and text input on touchscreen devices. Siine is revolutionizing text-based communication, radically improving the texting process for social, IM, gaming and business communication. Being with Siine from day zero I was responsible for designing the user interface and building early prototypes of Siine Writer. Other tasks involved talent scouting and recruitment of new team members as well as negotiations with potential business partners and investors. With a growing team I naturally took over the team lead and project management. Succeeding this role I decided to hand over the project management to fully focus on engineering again in order to push forward the development of the core technology by leading the technical team and training and integrating new team members.
ExperienceOn Ventures S.L. Barcelona, Spain 10/2009 - 06/2010	Software Engineer for Mobile Applications Responsible for the mobile application development of bliquo.com - a social portal for urban leisure. My work involved building the technical architecture as well as designing the user interface and functionality for applications running on iPhone and Android platforms. Bliquo has been featured in Apple's App Store in several countries, has been the "number one" app in Spain, and is one of the top applications in the Android Market with a user satisfaction rate of 4.5 out of 5 stars. In total it has been downloaded over 130k times (by June 2010) and has been featured and reviewed by various international blogs and magazines.
Linqia Barcelona, Spain Summer 2009	Social Media Marketing & Community Development Summer internship in the field of Social Media Marketing and Community Development at Barcelona based start-up Linqia with the objective to extend my knowledge in business, management and marketing and to experience being part of a bustling entrepreneurial environment. Linqia.com is an online marketplace connecting key decision makers at Social Networks to Commercial Partners (brands, advertisers, content creators, sponsors, service operators).
Edinburgh Napier University Edinburgh, Scotland 08/2008 - 07/2009	Thesis / Honours project Wrote my thesis about the design and development process of an embedded system to control and communicate with a distributed high speed sensor network to measure quiescent and operating current in a vehicle. The project work included the implementation of several communication protocols (I2C, USB, CAN, SD-card).
Volkswagen AG Electronics Research Lab Palo Alto, CA, USA 11/2007 - 05/2008	Software Engineer Worked on a research project collaboration with Stanford University about estimating side slip by using computer vision. Designed a framework in C/C++ to record and synchronize camera and vehicle data. Developed a tool in Python and Qt to analyze and visualize the collected data. Developed a Linux based automotive media station in cooperation with Volkswagen Research in Tokyo, Japan. Responsible for an Open Source navigation solution by using OpenStreetMap
DARPA Urban Challenge Stanford, CA, USA 07/2007 - 11/2007	Embedded Systems Engineer Member of the Stanford Racing Team (Stanford University) in the DARPA Urban Challenge 2007. Responsible for the Drive-By-Wire system and the electrical system in general. Finished 2nd out of 89 participating international university teams. Awarded with $1,000,000 which is being used for further research in that field.
EDAG Engineering + Design AG Ingolstadt, Germany 2006-2007	Embedded Systems Engineer Worked on various projects in the fields of electronics, software engineering and microcomputer programming. Mainly in the automotive sector on projects for the German automobile manufacturers Audi and Volkswagen.
